Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AODACheck (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a software service that helps Ontario businesses achieve and maintain compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Our service is operated from Canada and our website is located at aodacheck.ca.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use AODACheck:

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up
  • Organization information — your business name and website URL
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, scan history
  • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never store card details
  • Website scan data — URLs you submit for scanning and the resulting accessibility reports
  • Staff training records — names and training completion data you enter

3. How we use your information

  • To provide and improve the AODACheck service
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To send you account-related emails (trial expiry, invoices, scan results)
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Canada (Supabase, ca-central-1 region). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your organization’s account — we never share scan results or compliance records with third parties.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate AODACheck:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database hosting (Canada)
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Resend — transactional email

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Your rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent and request deletion of your account and data

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) and your theme preference (stored in localStorage). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of AODACheck after changes constitutes acceptance.
